Just get whatever decoys you want and then cut the tips off of the keel to let the sand or whatever out.

Ryan replied to the topic 'The 2013 Waterfowl Season ..any predictions ?????' in the forum. The conditions in MN and WI could noit be better for this coming waterfowl season. On top of a long winter that gave us snow through April, and over 6" of rain in may (4 inches above average) the water is very high. Lots of ponds and sloughs are full of water and birds! Many ducks and geese fought through the snow and cold to keep their nests alive and they hatched just as the warm weather hit. There are many still nesting.

I also agree that flocked is just better, how ever for numbers painted being mixed in wont hurt. I would luse the best loooking / flocked heads out front as the birds are approaching. I dont have fully flocked decoys, just heads, but I have mixed them with a buddy who does have fully flocked and we had no issues. I think it comes down to set up and positioning first.

Terry Mahoney replied to the topic 'Fully flocked vs painted' in the forum.I would go with at least flocked heads. I've seen older deeks with a shine on the paint flair birds. These were old carrylites and 1st gen Bigfoots. I'm using GHG. No flairing issues with the painted bodies and flocked heads.

Upland bird hunting for turkeys. Love it.
It sure beats sitting in a swamp for 4 hours with mosquitoes eating you and the turkeys all hang up 80 yards out.
